Before working at Datalink, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I have had a very unique path to where I am today and I would go as far as all my jobs were interesting. I have worked on a cattle farm, timber cutting business, college mathematics professor, high school baseball umpire, and most recently in the analytical sphere.
What is your favorite line from a movie and why?
I have 2 favorites:
From the film Hoosiers: “Welcome to Indiana Basketball” – Norman Dale. High School basketball has a very unique excitement through the winter months and early spring. From 40k+ people attending the 1990 Indiana State Championship game to 3k+ people attending your regular season Friday or Saturday night game, the excitement is very unique that I have yet to feel elsewhere.
From the film Miracle and the actual sound bite from Al Michaels during the 1980 Olympics is played in the film: “Do you believe in miracles? Yes!” The moment USA beats Soviet Union in the 1980 Olympics. USA was an underdog in this match and it is very fitting that Al Michaels would say this with 3 seconds left in the match.
